My name is Sam. I am a multidisciplinary designer and art director with more than 16 years of senior experience at some of Australia’s most reputable brand and advertising agencies, most recently Host (part of Havas Group), Publicis Mojo and Landor Associates.
As an experienced Head of Design, I have led creative teams and complex projects including corporate identities, destination brands, environments, design strategies and advertising campaigns for several blue chip clients such as Lion, City of Melbourne, Australian Wool Innovation, Telstra, Bankwest, Virgin Active, Sydney Motorsport Park, Australian Turf Club, Northern Territory, Air New Zealand, Hilton Hotels, The Star, Nestle, Oporto, Diageo, Philip Morris and Tata Group, among others.
I was awarded for the redesign of the iconic City of Melbourne logo, new Woolmark and James Squire ‘Man of Many Tastes’ campaign, and have been recognised internationally at The One Show by the New York Type Directors’ Club. I was also responsible for the historic brand merger between the Australian Jockey Club and Sydney Turf Club to form the Australian Turf Club, and art directed the Spring Carnival campaign that year.
I am a passionate designer and innovator committed to excellence in corporate communications and regularly push the boundaries to achieve the best outcome for my clients. I extend this passion as a mentor to budding young designers and guest speaker at design colleges and industry events.
